Description : In 1942 the U.S. Army acquired by condemnation 15,000 acres of land in Madison County, Kentucky. To build the Blue Grass Ordnance Depot on this land, over 150 family properties were purchased. As part of the purchase agreement, all buried remains on those properties were disinterred and relocated to parcels of land designated for that purpose. Two cemeteries were established, one for "whites" (Cemetery A/Blue Grass Memorial Cemetery) on US-421 and one for "colored" (Cemetery B/Parks Cemetery) on Speedwell Road.
