The previous church built in 1782 and renovated in 1834 was replaced by the existing church in 1867/8, [to the west of the old church]. There were four churches in Penpont, Presbyterian Church, Scuarbridge, Virginhall Free and Burnhead United. The parish now includes Keir and TynronThe re-built church of 1867 was constructed in big-buttressed Gothic style. |
