| Description | : | The Persons Pioneer Cemetery was probably the first cemetery opened in the township, but was not used after the Civil War era. This site is located on Route 20A (Big Tree Rd) west of the intersection of Route 20A and Route 77 (known as Turner's Corners or North Sheldon) on the north side of the highway at the brow of a hill. It was known as Sheldon Pioneer Cemetery, and also Cemetery Hill Cemetery. The first settlement was made in 1804. |
