Description	:	To reach this cemetery go a short distance east of the Melrose Plantation, Melrose, LA and turn left on the first dirt road on your left, passable only when dry, do not attempt when wet unless you are a country boy with a 4 wheel drive vehicle and mudding experience. After crossing the bayou on a concrete bridge turn left. Go until you see another concrete bridge across the bayou to your left, you can see the old church from here. Read More	To reach this cemetery go a short distance east of the Melrose Plantation, Melrose, LA and turn left on the first dirt road on your left, passable only when dry, do not attempt when wet unless you are a country boy with a 4 wheel drive vehicle and mudding experience. After crossing the bayou on a concrete bridge turn left. Go until you see another concrete bridge across the bayou to your left, you can see the old church from here. Cross the bridge and the cemetery is behind the church. The cemetery is not maintained as the church is no longer active and in fact the building is falling down. If you want to leave by another route, cross the bridge and turn left, go a good piece and at the intersection turn left. This dirt road will turn into LA 1220 which turns into LA 119 at the old Cane River Gin (cotton gin). This is a nice, slow and safe drive for even a car, when dry, on which you are not likely to encounter another vehicle. This is not a large cemetery. It is evidently an African American/Black cemetery. Most graves have a concrete slab top, many have nothing to identify the occupant and there are other graves identifiable only by the sunken ground. I did not photograph the unmarked/sunken graves. The church has been demolished, I'm not sure when, it's been a long time since I've driven this road.
