| Description | : | The Church of St. Lawrence was built before 1190. in 1382 the city fell and with it also the Saint Lawrence's Church and the Church of St. Otto in the Undercity a fire victim. Of the former Romanesque church, only portions of the West plant survived the fire and have been incorporated into the new building. The incursions of Hussites 1419-1434, the Saxon brother war, 1446-1451 and plague epidemics delayed the progress of construction. The reconstruction took over 80 years.
