| Description | : | Daniel Wheeler was the founder of the Shushary cemetery. Daniel Wheeler was agriculture specialist, English Quaker, minister, teacher and missionary. He was in the service of the Russian government. He came from England along with his sons William, Joshua and Charles. In the period from 1818 to 1836 he was involved in organizing the drainage of large plots of land in the Okhta, Volkov village and Shushary areas, thereby making them suitable for use and subsequent settlement. His wife and daughter are buried in the Shushary cemetery. |
