Description	:	The St. George’s Church cemetery was established in conjunction with the establishment of the original church, which was built in 1847 on the highest hill in the hamlet. The original wooden church was demolished in 1908 and the current stone church, “one of the loveliest parish churches in Canada,” was completed in 1909. The cemetery contains many of the original inhabitants of the village including Thomas Gore, the villages namesake in addition to two mass graves; one for early Irish settlers to the area who perished from typhoid fever in 1847 and the other for German workers of the Cobourg...
