| Description | : | Stophel Cemetery at S Holston Dam is a small cemetery near the Weir Dam and is beside the South Holston River. When the Tennessee Valley Authority began construction of the large earthen dam and reservoir on the South Holston River, the cemeteries in the river valley were relocated. Stophel Cemetery has about 33 graves, most unmarked or marked only with field stones and a few aging tombstones. TVA maintains the cemetery which is not fenced.
