| Description | : | The cemetery is located about 100 feet South of the site of the original plantation house, "Success Farm". The house was unfortunately demolished sometime in the 1950's, another house was built on the foundations. The monument is framed by boxwood trees 200+years old. The location of "Success Farm" is on Rt. 222 near the intersection of 222 and Rt. 1 in the 8th district, Cecil county Maryland. The area is also referred to as "Cromwell's Mountain, Mt. Pleasant, and Octoraro Hundred, among others. The original plantation was about 300 acres and stretched down to the Susquahanna river. |
