Description	:	Tacoma started as a train depot station in 1869. The Central Pacific Railroad used it during the Silver boom. The town started with about 100 residents, with most involved in maintenance for the railroad and a few working at nearby mines. The mines around Tecoma produced more than $40,000 worth of copper, but the town started to decline in the 1920s. In 1918 the town's hotel burned down and was not rebuilt.
