Description	:	John A and Sarah J Talbot came to Texas in the late 1830's. They are enumerated at ages 35 and 33, in the 1850 U S, Bowie Co. TX Census. John, a merchant, was born in Virginia and Sarah in Tennessee. There are six children in the house; Ann E, age 11, John William age 10, Martha Frs., age 8, Virginia A, age 6, Sarah Eliza, age 4, and Mary Jane, age 2. All children born in Texas. Read More	John A and Sarah J Talbot came to Texas in the late 1830's. They are enumerated at ages 35 and 33, in the 1850 U S, Bowie Co. TX Census. John, a merchant, was born in Virginia and Sarah in Tennessee. There are six children in the house; Ann E, age 11, John William age 10, Martha Frs., age 8, Virginia A, age 6, Sarah Eliza, age 4, and Mary Jane, age 2. All children born in Texas. This census does not define relationship but it is almost assuredly they are their children. The 1860 Bowie Co, Boston, TX (now Old Boston) Census they are again listed as in 1850 with the only changes being; each of the 1850 group aged 10 yrs. and the addition of three more children. Adda, age 10, James M, age 7 and Charles L, age 2. John and Sarah are at the same location in 1870. Virginia, Sarah, Ada, James M and John W (now a physician) are still at home. There is another child, Sarah L, age 2. Martha F Talbot is now married to Dr. R A Haynie, from Virginian and has two sons; John A, age 9 and Alphuis S, age 2. All are at the same residence. Ann E Talbot is married to another physician, Dr. Henry C Hunter, another Virginian. The reside in Red River Township, Miller Co. Arkansas and they have three children; Fannie Hunter, age 8, John M Hunter, age 7 and Margaret E Hunter, age 4. 1880 still finds John and Sarah in Bowie Co. TX. In the house are two daughters, "Sallie", probably Sarah E Talbot, and Ada A Matthews (widowed) along with grand-daughters, Fannie Hunter, age 18, Maggie Hunter, age 13 and Pinkey, age 9. These are the children of Dr. Henry and Ann E Talbot Hunter. Ann E passed away and was buried here in 1875. Their son, John M Hunter is in the house of "Fannie" Hayney, most likely Martha F Talbot Haynie, as a nephew. She has two children with her also, John, age 18 and William, age 11. She is most likely the widow of Dr. R A Haynie that is also buried here. All parental origins are the same so this would seem to be the case. This information has been assembled through examination of U S Census records with some assumptions being made along with the obvious and is not represented as entirely accurate. If any information need be corrected, I will gladly do so. This Cemetery is enclosed on PRIVATE property and you should obtain permission for entry. It requires 4/10 of a mile walk, one way. Muddy when wet.
