Description	:	Thurston Cemetery was established by David and Catherine Thurston, who purchased the area in 1843. It was set aside as a cemetery in David's will when he died in 1875 and continued to be used until 1903. In the 1960s, it was planned to be moved to make way for redevelopment. Some of the remains were moved, but many others were not, and headstones and remains were buried in a pit. The cemetery was rediscovered in 2001 during a road construction project.
