Legal description for land occupied by the Cemetery is: A-1 SUR-1 A M ESNAURIZAR, 97.94 Acres (Cemetery occupies a plot 16 feet x approximately 32 feet with 4' metal panel fencing with 6'6" gateway access) History of Timmermann Family: On August 29, 1847 in Golmbach, Germany, CHRISTIAN LUDWIG TIMMERMANN (1815-1879), born January 11, 1815 in Dölme, Holzminden, Germany, married LOUISE CAROLINE WILHELMINE BRANDT (1823-1905), born June 12, 1823 in Lütgenade, Holzminden, Germany, baptized June 22, 1823. On October 2, 1856, the Timmermann family posted a notice of their intention to immigrate to Texas. They left from Bremen, Germany, and on January 6, 1857, Christian, Wilhelmine, and their three children Johanne (2nd born), Friederika (4th born), and August (5th born) arrived in Galveston, Texas, on the ship Evan Beaulieu. They then made their way to the New Braunfels area where they soon established contact with Christian Ludwig Timmermann's half-brother, Heinrich Gustav Söfge (Soefje) and family. Over the next several years, the Birth and Baptismal records of the St. Martin's Lutheran church repeatedly show that the Söfge (Soefje) and the Timmermann families served as godparents for each other's children. The first instance occurs only a few months after the Timmermann family arrived in Texas. Wilhelmine was pregnant with their sixth child, Anna, when they made the voyage to Texas. The family's occupation was farming. The property was originally owned by Christian Ludwig Timmerman (1815-1879) and remained in the Timmermann family. Corine Timmermann (1921-2001) married Chester John Grimm (1917-2005) on 10 October 1945. To this day, the property remains in the Grimm family line. Headstones: (1) Christian Ludwig Timmermann (1815-1879) Original headstone is in place but worn due to time and weather and proves 1879 was the establishment of the cemetery. (2) Louise Caroline Wilhelmine (Brandt) Timmerman (1823-1905) Wife of Christian Timmermann. Original headstone destroyed (most likely due to overgrowth and use of heavy farm equipment.) Replacement marker has been purchased and placed. (3) Bruno August Timmermann (1886-1886) Born a twin; grandson of Christian and Louise Timmermann, died from Zahnen (Teething).
