(Note-Isaac Van Houten, father of Ralph, etc. is bur. in pasture on the Van Houten farm on the Swale, d. of smallpox in 1865-b.1795 N.J. An infant child of John Van Houten is also buried in that pasture) The actual location of these burials is not known, but they appear to have been on the farm owned by Mercy M. (Brandt) Van Houten. She inherited this farm from her father, and it was known as the Van Houten Farm. It was in Canisteo in the area called...
