The African American section is in severe disrepair, many of stones are gone, graves are sinking, etc. Whitmire is one of the oldest and one of the largest cemeteries in Escambia Co Florida. According to several historians, there are graves dating back to 1830 and Civil War. Directions: Drive North on S291. Davis Highway, past the University Mall, and just past The West Florida Hospital.
