Description	:	The Währinger local cemetery was consecrated in 1769. It was designed in a Biedermeier-classical style. In 1841 the cemetery was expanded but in 1873 it was closed. The city of Vienna took possession of the cemetery in 1912 and the decision was made to turn it into a park. In 1924 all graves were removed and the remains were transferred to other cemeteries. A walled area in the park has around 40 important Biedermeier and early historical headstones from the cemetery.
