Description : York, Mt. was started Jan. 13, 1866. Formally New York City/New York Gulch in Meagher County, was the mining area at that time. When the town was started so was the cemetery, which is on top of a mountain. The only way to get to the cemetery, was by walking and horse's pulling the casket. To this day you can not drive to it, walking is the only way. The cemetery is still use, the last funeral was in 2009. The first funeral was D.A.
