Their first call was to Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Ponder, not knowing where to reach Mrs. Mae Gordon, a sister of Mrs. Allison, and the latter then called back to Little Rock. The information given was about the same in each case. Details are naturally lacking so far. Junior had been training at a college training station at Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. He was accompanied on the plane by pilot Porter Alley, the instructor. Alley was able to extricate himself from the wreckage and reach the shore, but apparently young Allison was either stunned by the crash or was entangled below the surface. A Burlington railroad crew at once began dredging and brought out the plane, but at a late hour yesterday the body of Junior had not been found. High water in the streams in that region may have been a factor in carrying his body down stream. Should it be found, the parents of the lad indicated whey would bring it to Gering for interment. Judging from such evidence as is at hand, Junior Allison was born in Gering on January 26, 1923. His parents are in Little Rock, where Major Allison has been in army service at Camp Robinson for several years. Junior graduated from Gering High School in 1941. During his high school years, he was concerned in football, basketball and track activities as well as other student duties. He then spent a year at the state university at Lincoln, after which he went to Little Rock, where he entered the army air corps service and was sent to Jefferson Barracks, Missouri, and then to Iowa for aviation training. He is survived also by a brother, William Allison, who is also in the service, and a sister Barbara Lee, at the present home of her parents in North Little Rock, Ark. A number of aunts and uncles also survive, Mrs. Mae Gordon of Gering being an aunt and John W. Lawyer of Mitchell an uncle. J. Ned Allison, father of the deceased boy, left here when the Gering national guard company was mobilized. He had served here in many public capacities, being a member of the county board of commissioners when he left. Junior was a fine boy, popular with those who knew him, and that means practically everyone in and about his home city. He was a regular attendant at the Christian church and held the unique record of perfect attendance for many years at its bible school. Gering Courier.
