Call up for National Service in the 1st Ballot - 30th June 1965 and allocated Regimental Number 2871563. He was selected to attend Officer Training at the newly formed Officer's Trainng Unit at Scheyville, NSW. Appointed a short service commission for 5 years on 18th September 1966 and Regimental Number to 217479. He was Platoon Commander of 4 Platoon B Company when on 7th April 1967 he was critically wounded by a booby trap. He died of his wounds...
