Isabel was predeceased by her beloved husband of thirty nine years, John R. Johnson, in 1981. Isabel - Born in Collingwood Township on January 19, 1917, a daughter of the late James and Elizabeth (nee Sheridan) Brown, Isabel passed away peacefully at Errinrung Nursing Home in Thornbury on Friday, September 05, 2014 at the age of 97. Isabel was predeceased by her beloved husband of thirty nine years, John R. Johnson, in 1981. She will be remembered in the community for her long term commitment to her role and duties teaching in several schools in the Beaver Valley area where she became principal of Thornbury Public School, a career from which she retired in 1977. Isabel was also a dedicated member and supporter of St. Paul's Presbyterian Church and the Bella Goodfellow Guild. She is remembered as the much loved Mom of Roger Johnson and his partner Gail Langley of Newmarket and as a dear grandmother and great grandmother to his children Susan and her husband Greg Schope and children Victoria and Abigail of Keswick, and Steven and his wife Amy Johnson and their children Tyler and Sara of Newmarket and will be fondly remembered also by the children's mother Rosemary (nee McGowan). She is also remembered as a loving Mom by Malcolm Johnson of Thornbury and as a devoted grandma to his children Neill and his wife Stephanie of London, Anne Johnson of Calgary and Ross Johnson also of Calgary and she will be kindly remembered by their mother Catherine (nee Hetu). Isabel was a dear sister to Kathleen Murphy of Guelph and was predeceased by a sister Sarah Murray formerly of Meaford. Family will receive friends at the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, THE VALLEY CHAPEL , 20 Alice St. E., Thornbury on Wednesday. Funeral services officiated by Rev. Peggy Kipfer and Rev. Dr. Robert Buchanan will be conducted at St. Paul's Presbyterian Church on Thursday, September 11. Interment to follow at Thornbury-Clarksburg Union Cemetery. Donations to St. Paul's Presbyterian Church. Published on September 8, 2014
