Read More	A car-truck crash at the intersection of the county Bazine-Brownell road and K-4 highway three miles east of Brownell about mid-morning Monday, October 2, resulted in the death of Aaron Flax, 10-month old son of Mr. and Mrs. John Flax of Ransom. It was the first highway fatality of the current year in the county. According to Trooper Don Minerd the accident happened when a cattle truck driven by David Honderick of LaCrosse was crossing the highway from the north, and the car, driven by Mrs. Joe Flax, traveling east struck the truck just at the back of the cab. Six persons were riding in the Flax car, all escaping with only minor to serious injuries except infant Aaron Flax, who was pronounced dead upon arrival at the Ransom Hospital. Two of the group were hospitalized but reported in good condition following the accident. They were Mrs. Joe Flax and Mrs. Don Friess. Others given treatment and released with only minor hurts included Michelle Flax, Mrs. Daniel Friess, and Tammy Friess. Honderick was uninjured in the accident. Trooper Minerd reported that Honderick told him that he had stopped his loaded livestock truck at the north side of the highway, had glanced west up the highway, and then preceeded to drive across the road. He did not see the approaching car, Minerd reported. Funeral services for infant Aaron Flax were held from the St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Ransom Tuesday afternoon, October 3, with interment being in the St. Aloysius Catholic Cemetery, Ransom. Ness Co. News, Oct. 5, 1961 ------------------------------------------------- OBITUARY Aaron Gerald Flax was born November 24, 1960, to John C. and Rosella Flax at Grisell Memorial Hospital in Ransom. He died October 2, 1961, at the age of 10 months and 8 days, the result of a car-truck accident. He was dead upon arrival at Grisell Memorial Hospital. Surviving his untimely passing are his Daddy and Mother, and sister, Michelle Renee. A mass of the angels was offered by Father Cornelius Luenissen, pastor of the St. Aloysius Church, Ransom. He will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him. God gave him to John and Rosella and it was His Hold Will that He took him back again. It can be truly said that Aaron was a little flower, budded on Earth to blossom in heaven. Funeral arrangements were by Fitzgerald’s Ness City. Pallbearers were cousins: Freddie Flax, James Flax, Harold Flax and David Flax, Servers at Mass: Francis Flax, jr.; Dirk Combest and Bobbie Leiker. Interment was in the St. Aloysius Catholic Cemetery, Ransom on October 3. Ness Co. News, Oct. 19, 1961
