A native of Union County, he was a son of the late James Johnson and Hassie Goings Crocker. He was a member and elder of McCutcheon Memorial Presbyterian Church and was a retired insurance agent with Palmetto State Life and Mutual of Omaha. He was a former member of the S.C. Crocker, 84, of 200 Davis St. died Dec. 13, 1997, in his home after a sudden illness. A native of Union County, he was a son of the late James Johnson and Hassie Goings Crocker. He was a member and elder of McCutcheon Memorial Presbyterian Church and was a retired insurance agent with Palmetto State Life and Mutual of Omaha. He was a former member of the S.C. National Guards. Survivors include his wife, Myrtle McKeown Crocker; a son, A. O'Neil Crocker of Isle of Palms; a daughter, Peggy C. Stager of Troy, Ohio; a brother, Onree Crocker of Chester; five grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at McCutcheon Memorial Presbyterian Church, conducted by the Revs. David White and James Crocker. Burial will be in Union Memorial Gardens. The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. The family is at the home. Memorials may be made to McCutcheon Memorial Presbyterian Church, 1438 Lockhart Highway, Union. The S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
