AARON HANSEN 1924 - 2011 Aaron Wilfred Hansen, beloved husband of Evalyne Hansen (nee Grigor), passed away peacefully in Taber on Thursday, June 30, 2011 at the age of 87 years. The Funeral Service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Barnwell on Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. with Bishop Scott Nelson conducting. Burial to follow at the Barnwell Cemetery. Besides Evalyne, his loving wife of sixty seven years, Aaron is survived by their eight children Dennis Hansen of Tacoma, Washington; Mulloy (Jeanne) Hansen of Lewiston, Idaho; William "Bill" (Judy) Hansen of Barnwell; Gloria (Dallace) Jensen of Taber; Robert "Bob" (Debra) Hansen of Barnwell; Robin (Melanie) Hansen of Barnwell; Glennda (Sherman) Valgardson of Barnwell; Greggory "Gregg" (Cindy) Hansen of Magrath; forty three grandchildren, eighty great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Arden Hansen of Salt Lake City, Utah; brothers-in-law Walter Grigor, Earl (Connie) Grigor, Orville (Marie) Grigor all of Barnwell and sister-in-law Grace Grigor of Coaldale as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents James & Margaret "Maggie" Hansen; siblings Alvin (Norma) Hansen, Edna (Ken) Wood, Thelda (Vern) Olsen, Mulloy Hansen, Viola (Harry) Smith, Donna Hansen, Edward (Blanche) Hansen; In-laws James (Rose) Grigor, Della Grigor, Josephine Grigor, Merlin Grigor, Mildred (Wesley) Cradduck and his granddaughters, Emma Rose Hansen and Amber Rae Valgardson. Aaron was born in Cardston and raised on the St. Mary's River Ranch located south east of Aetna. He lived his life in the service of others. Aaron served his family through his example of being a loving and devoted husband and a kind and caring father. He was a fan on the sidelines, always cheering his loved ones on, whether in sports or in life. Aaron gave many years of service to his country, first the Royal Canadian Air Force and then the Army & the Navy. He took his little family with him from Halifax to Victoria. Aaron's love for his Heavenly Father showed as he served three building missions and one service mission with his wife and family. He also served in the Western Samoa, South Africa and Tonga, building churches and teaching carpentry to many young men. His most treasured memory was the opportunity to build the Tongan Temple.
