| Description | : | Civil War service: Co. D, 10th Cavalry, 125th Reg., Indiana Volunteers. He was captured on 17 Dec 1864 at Hollow Tree Gap, Franklin Co., TN. He was sent to Andersonville Prison shortly thereafter. Paroled at Jacksonville, FL, 28 Apr 1865, went by steamer to College Green Barracks, Annapolis, MD 15 May 1865, then by rail to Camp Chase, OH, where he was discharged. Aaron contracted a 'disease of the lungs' (consumption) at Andersonville and was unable to perform any manual labor after his discharge. He had to request aid from the county.
