She was born in Graceville, Florida on Sept. 19,1933 to Lorene Pelham and John Daniel "Daddy Buck" Barker. She was a loving wife to her late husband, Gene and devoted mother of three. Abbie worked with the Jackson County Senior Citizens from 1974 until her retirement in May of 2015. She loved her job and in her free time enjoyed bridge, bunco, hand and foot with many friends. Read More	Abbie Jean Barker Burdeshaw Abbie Jean Barker Burdeshaw went to be with The Lord on Saturday, September 5, 2015. She was born in Graceville, Florida on Sept. 19,1933 to Lorene Pelham and John Daniel "Daddy Buck" Barker. She was a loving wife to her late husband, Gene and devoted mother of three. Abbie worked with the Jackson County Senior Citizens from 1974 until her retirement in May of 2015. She loved her job and in her free time enjoyed bridge, bunco, hand and foot with many friends. Abbie was a life-long member of the Methodist Church. While very active in her church she enjoyed Twix and Tween with her friends from the Baptist Church. All who knew Abbie Jean benefitted from her love of cooking, baking and preserving. The Lion's Club selected her Woman of the Year in 1993. Mrs. Burdeshaw is preceded in death by her husband Wilburn Gene Burdeshaw and her parents. She is survived by her children Sarah and Robert Jewell of Dothan, Pat and Julie Burdeshaw of Graceville and Dan and Lesa Burdeshaw of Chipley. Also among her loved ones are her grandchildren Chris and Elizabeth Jewell of Birmingham, AL, Ashley and Kendrick Fleming of Ponce de Leon, Kevin Jewell of Auburn, AL, Stephen and Haley Burdeshaw of Sneads, Katie and Noah Burdeshaw of Chipley, great-grandchildren Sadie Jo Burdeshaw, Finley Anne Fleming and Kathleen Carmichael Jewell, sister Kathleen Turner, niece Paula Wright, nephew John Barker and Terri Turner and nephew Charles and Betty Swicord. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Monday, September 7, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church in Graceville with Revs. Sean Rezak and Dan Rhodes officiating. Burial will follow in Marvin Chapel Cemetery with James & Lipford Funeral Home in Graceville directing. Family will receive friends at the First United Methodist Church on Sunday, 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the First United Methodist Church P.O.
