She was married to Fred Eaton February 9, 1904. Five children have blessed this union: Harry, Dean, George, Lucile, and Vaughn. Although all her life she had been a... Read More	EATON, ABBIE ODESSA—DEATH OF MRS. FRED EATON. Abbie Odessa Owens was born in Jasper county, Iowa, December 26, 1884. She removed to Fillmore county, Nebraska with her parents in 1886. She was married to Fred Eaton February 9, 1904. Five children have blessed this union: Harry, Dean, George, Lucile, and Vaughn. A kind and loving mother, a true and faithful wife will be greatly missed in the home. A place is vacant that never can be filled. She became a member of the Methodist church December 26,1915. Although all her life she had been a firm believer in the Gospel of Christ, she never before had made a public confession. She was a dear, patient sufferer during her last illness that had lasted over four months. She was first taken sick with typhoid fever, then later she suffered from separative appendicitis from which she never recovered. She departed this life at her home at 4:14 Monday afternoon February 7, 1916. She leaves besides her husband and children, her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Owens, and three sisters and one brother, all of Bliss, Neb., One sister preceded her to the better world. She is also survived by many other relatives and a host of friends, for all who knew her loved her. The funeral takes place from the Methodist Episcopal church in Geneva at 2:30 this afternoon, and will be conducted by Rev. W.L. Austin. The interment will be in the Geneva cemetery. The Nebraska Signal 1916.
