She was born in Lake township on Nov. 4, 1863, the daughter of David and Phoebe CHATTAWAY-McCLOUD. Her marriage to J. S. HITCHCOCK took place in Lake township on Dec. 19, 1883. Services will be held at the Fairbanks Home for Funerals on Wednesday.(written in ink; 25 July 1945) Funeral rites for Mrs. Abbie McCLOUD-HITCHCOCK, were conducted today at the Fairbanks Home for Funerals by the Rev. P. M. Conant, retired Methodist minister. Burial was in Greenwood cemetery. Casket bearers were Stuart and Ralph McBride, Lee Riggs, Charles Harbaugh and Wendel and Ernest Hoopes. McCLOUD a native of Lake township and a daughter of DAVID McCLOUD and PHOEBE CHATTAWAY. Her father was a native of Ohio but her mother came from England and located in Muscatine county in the early days. There were eight children in their family. One son, Bion H. has been born to Mr. and Mrs JOHN S Hitchcock, and he is now attending the State Agricultural College at Ames, Iowa, and is a young man of high promise.
