Goertzen, the son of John P. and Elizabeth (Regier) Goertzen, was born at Stockham, Nebraska, on September 14, 1906, and passed away at Aurora, Nebraska, on December 14, 1985, at the age of 79 years and 3 months. He grew up near Henderson and attended grade school there. He continued to live near Henderson, and for the last 40 years he lived near Aurora. On October 9, 1927, he was united in marriage to Minnie Friesen, at Henderson. They farmed until 1964, when they moved into Aurora, and Abe worked for the City of Aurora.... Read More	Abraham J. He grew up near Henderson and attended grade school there. He continued to live near Henderson, and for the last 40 years he lived near Aurora. On October 9, 1927, he was united in marriage to Minnie Friesen, at Henderson. They farmed until 1964, when they moved into Aurora, and Abe worked for the City of Aurora. In 1976 he retired. Abe was a member of the Mennonite Church in Henderson and 20 years ago he transferred his membership to the Aurora United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one infant sister. Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife, Minnie; 5 sons, Milton of Marquette, Johnny and Leo of Aurora, Everette of Polk and Dent of Aurora; 4 daughters, Josephine Trautman of Beaver City, Liz Bicknase and Amanda Williams of Aurora, and Marlene Schmidt of Grand Island; two brothers, Albert and Harry J. Goertzen both of Henderson; 3 sisters, Goldie Friesen, Gertrude Martin and Marie Friesen, all of Henderson; 31 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, one foster grandchild, and many other relatives and close friends.
