Thanks to Find a Grave Contributor Steve Hols for sending this death notice: Eddyville, October 10-Abraham Jewett, aged 88 years, one of the oldest residents of Wapello County, died yesterday morning at nine o'clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Culbertson in Eddyville. The deceased was a native of England but came to this country in his childhood days and resided in the vicinity of Chillicothe for many years, removing the to Eddyville but recently. Paralysis was the cause of his demise. The funeral will be held tomorrow from the Chillicothe M.E. Church and interment will be made in the Chillicothe cemetery.
