Shanor who passed away December 5 at the Mercy Hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa. The body was removed to the Comer Funeral Home here where it lay in state until the hour of the services which was conducted by the pastor, Rev. C. H. Shuklin. Pall bearers were Willis Patrick, W. C. Short, W. W. Good, Ernest Dreihm, Win Castor, and F. F. Cole. Music was furnished by Mrs. H. F. Greenwood and Donald Gipe. Mrs. Golden Davis, Mrs. J. A. Jenkins, and Mrs. Alfred Anderson were in charge of the floral offerings. Abraham Walker Shanor was born in Butcher County, Pennsylvania, August 21, 1858. He moved to Iowa with his parents in 1876. He spent the years 1880-1892 at Stratton, Nebraska. He married Fannie McCloy of Aurora, Nebraska in 1890. To this union one daughter was born. Mrs. Shanor passed away in 1891. He then returned to Iowa locating at Emerson. In 1897 he was married to Mrs. Elva O'Doniell. To this union was born two sons, and one daughter, Maxine, who died at the age of nine years. Mrs. Shanor passed away January 5, 1945. Mr. Shanor kept his residence in Emerson until his death, December 5, 1948. He was privileged to attain the advanced age of 90 years. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Elsie Anderson, Wahoo, Nebraska, sons, Dayle Shnaor, San Gabriel, California, two step daughters, Mrs. Carrie Cole, Emerson, and Mrs. Mag Schwan of Los Angles, California, one step son, Frank O'Donnell of Barstow, California; one brother, John Shanor, Sheridan, Wyoming; five sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Piper, Wahoo, Nebraska, Mrs. Jane Smith, Mrs. Maude Kesler, Mrs. Minnie Dickson, all of Osceola, and Mrs. Agnes Wilson of Fillmore, Utah; an only grandchild, Milrae Anderson of Alberdeen, South Dakota. Burial was in the Emerson Cemetery.
