Abraham Wallick was born in Ohio county, Indiana, January 1, 1819, and died at his home in Seward, Nebraska, January 17, 1892, and was consequently 73 years and 17 days of age at the time of his death. Mr. Wallick removed from Indiana to Fulton county, Illinois in 1840, where he was married to Mary H. Johnson in 1850. Abraham Wallick was born in Ohio county, Indiana, January 1, 1819, and died at his home in Seward, Nebraska, January 17, 1892, and was consequently 73 years and 17 days of age at the time of his death. Mr. Wallick removed from Indiana to Fulton county, Illinois in 1840, where he was married to Mary H. Johnson in 1850. In 1854 Mr. Wallick moved to Monroe county, Iowa, where he resided when the rebellion broke out. He enlisted in the 22nd Iowa Infantry at Albia, Iowa, July 26, 1862, and was mustered out of the service of the Union July 14, 1865, having served his country faithfully for three years. After Mr. Wallick entered the service of his country his little family returned to Fulton county, Illinois, where he joined them at the end of the war, where they remained until in August, 1868, when they came to Seward county and settled down on a homestead three miles west of Seward, where Mrs. Wallick died in February 1871. Mr. Wallick remained on the homestead until 1881, when he removed to Seward, where he has since resided. Mr. Wallick and his family were among the early settlers of Seward county, and shared in all the privations and drawbacks incident to a new country Mr. and Mrs. Wallick had a family of thirteen children, seven sons and six daughters, and it required a good deal of energy and pluck to take care of such a large family in Nebraska at that early day. The oldest daughter married and moved to Pennsylvania, where she died several years ago, but the other five daughters and seven sons are still living. Mr. Wallick was a member of the Christian church, and was perfectly resigned to the call of his Master, saying that all was well with him.
