Several months before Ab and Mollie were married, news showing how well she was liked in the community, was published in the Mexico Weekly Ledger (MO) on Thursday, March 17, 1887. "Miss Mollie McKillip, quite a charming young lady, left here last Tuesday for Antelop Valley, Cal. Miss Mollie is one of society's favorites, and will be sadly missed from our little village. Success to you, Miss Mollie." Mary, known as Mollie, and her younger brother, William, moved to CA, the year before their father died. Then, that same year, Mollie moved to WA where she met and married Absalom in Vancouver, Clark Co, WA on November 24, 1897. On April 23 & 25, 1910 (Federal Census) Absalom B. and Mary (Mollie) owned a home, mortgage free, in Hoquarton, Tillamook Co, OR. Absalom was a house painter. They had been married 12 years (both their second marriage); Mollie had given birth to 1 child who had died. Absalom died at 7:30 p.m on November 24, 1912, from a brain abscess. He was seen by the doctor from November 11 1912 - November 24, 1912. He was buried on November 25. Most of his death certificate was left blank because no one could give any information. On June 7, 1916, Mary filed a petition to gain control of their property. The date of Absalom's death was shown incorrectly as 1913 instead of 1912. The petition, in part: The petition of Marry Allison respectfully shows: That Absalom B. Allison died at Lewistown, Montana on or about (left blank) day of November 1913, intestate; that the said deceased left 40 acres of timber land in Tillamook County, Oregon, owned by him, described as the Northeast quarter of the Northwest quarter of Section 13, in Township 3 of south of Range 10 west of Willamette Meridian, of the probable value of $400.00; that said property has no rental value, and the decedent left no other property belonging to him in the Sate of Oregon. That the heirs at law and next of kin of the deceased are your petitioner, Mary, Allison, widow of deceased, residing in Tillamook City, Tillamook County, Oregon,aged 60 years; that deceased left no children or lineal descendants whatsoever. That in order to make the record clear as to the title to the property above described it is necessary that an administrator be appointed; that your petitioner desires that Erwin Harrison be appointed to act as such. ...
