Description	:	Mr. Absalom P. Chivington was born in Athens county, Ohio, April 3, 1830, and died January 2, 1901. In his early youth, his parents removed to Elkhart county, Indiana, where he married Elizabeth Stevens. Of this union was born one son and four daughters; all of which are living excepting one daughter. In 1860 he removed to Jasper county, Iowa, where his wife died. In 1870 he married Mrs. Lorain Wilson. Five sons were born of this union, all of whom but two precede him to the "great beyond." In 1884 he migrated... Read More	Mr. Absalom P. Chivington was born in Athens county, Ohio, April 3, 1830, and died January 2, 1901. In his early youth, his parents removed to Elkhart county, Indiana, where he married Elizabeth Stevens. Of this union was born one son and four daughters; all of which are living excepting one daughter. In 1860 he removed to Jasper county, Iowa, where his wife died. In 1870 he married Mrs. Lorain Wilson. Five sons were born of this union, all of whom but two precede him to the "great beyond." In 1884 he migrated to Nebraska, from there to Colorado. In 1890, he moved to the state of Washington where his wife died. He returned to Iowa in 1893. One year later, he married Mrs. Mary A. Bennett. He leaves many relatives to mourn his departure, among whom are several sisters and brothers, sons and daughters, and several grandchildren. He has fought a good fight, he has finished his course, henceforth there is a crown laid up for him. He was anxious to answer his Master's summons.
