Ada the eldest daughter of John Forsythe and Ella Newman. She was born at Forest Mills, Wis., Oct. 26, 1896, and departed this life in the West Union hospital Nov. 28, 1937, at the age of 41 years, 1 month and 2 days. She was born at Forest Mills, Wis., Oct. 26, 1896, and departed this life in the West Union hospital Nov. 28, 1937, at the age of 41 years, 1 month and 2 days. At the age of 3, she with her parents moved to a farm near Elma, Iowa. Here her father passed away after a lingering illness. At the age of 11, she with her mother and brothers, moved to Charles City, where she grew to womanhood. In 1912 she was married to David Boyer. Two years were spent in Minneapolis, where one son was born, Kenneth Cleason. From there she and her son moved to Charles City, and in the fall of 1922 moved to Maynard. She was married to George Gray Sept. 20, 1924. They spent 12 years on their farm southwest of Fayette. In the sprin g of 1936 they moved to Fayette. She had a very pleasant disposition and was always jolly. She was loved by all the children. She was always willing and on hand when help was needed. She received so much enjoyment from visiting with neighbors and friends. She is survived by her husband and son, one brother, Renny Forsythe, of Riceville, two half - sisters , Mrs. Goldie Brown, Ionia, and Mrs. Gertrude Wentz, Charles City, one step - sister. Pearl Hunn, Centerville, two step brothers , Giles and Henry Hunn of Denver, Colo., her aged step - parents, Mr. and Mrs. Homer Hunn, also six step - children , Mrs. Winifred Burns. Mrs. Annetta Voshel, Volga City, Mrs. Lulu Smith, Arlington, Mrs. Zelda Alderson, West Union; Archie Gray, Oelweln, Rolando Gray, Fayette , and seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother several years. She was laid to rest in the Maynard cemetery. m/1 David Andrew Boyer 4/12/1913 Mason City, IA
