She was born in Calhoun County, a daughter of the late Joseph and Sarah Husk Kerby. She was a charter member of the Tecumseh Free Will Baptish Church, Tecumseh, Mich. Zion, Lucille Basnett of Big Bend and Helena Bennett of Elyria, Ohio; two brothers, Holly Kirby of Mt. Zion and Fred Kirby of Grantsville; 24 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Snowden Gibson; one daughter, Edra Rogers; three sons, Vernon Gibson, Arlin Gibson and Donald Gibson; and three brothers. Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, with Rev. Glendon McKee officiating. Burial was in Bryner Chapel Church Cemetery near Mt. Zion.
