Description	:	Adda Mae was the daughter of Nancy and Milton Griest. She was one of a family of eight children. All of whom have preceded her in death, except one sister. Her parents were early residents of Millwood, or what is now known as Quaker City. She married McClellan Hartley on Sep.24,1885 in Cincinnati, Ohio. They had a son, Gilbert and a daughter, Mrs. J.W. Hartley. In early childhood she united with the M.E. church, was a faithful member and interested in the Woman's Foreign Missionary and Ladies Aid Societies. All of whom have preceded her in death, except one sister. Her parents were early residents of Millwood, or what is now known as Quaker City. She married McClellan Hartley on Sep.24,1885 in Cincinnati, Ohio. They had a son, Gilbert and a daughter, Mrs. J.W. Hartley. In early childhood she united with the M.E. church, was a faithful member and interested in the Woman's Foreign Missionary and Ladies Aid Societies. A lifetime membership resulting in love and loyalty for her church. She was a kind and loving mother and grandmother. Her husband known to all in this community a "Mack" Hartley died in 1907. She died after a lingering illness of nearly five months, living to the age of 67 years, 9 months and 5 days. Her death was a distinct loss for her two children; five grandchildren, Paul, Herbert, Sonora Mae, Mack, Dorothy Nell Hartley; one sister, Mrs. William McBurney; many relatives and a host of friends. To her many friends, Adda Hartley, as we shall always think of her, was esteemed and loved for her quiet and womanly traits, ever ready to lend a hand to those in affliction or sorrow. She was a friend worth having and all who counted her as such must weep as they contemplate their loss. Service were held at Thorn-Eberle Funeral Home in Quaker City, with Brother Ron Miller officiating.
