Smith, 916 N avenue, were held from the Dixon Funeral home Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock with Dr. C. N. Swihart officiating. Burial was in the Nevada cemetery. Organ music was played at the beginning and the closing of the service. The many floral offerings surrounding the casket bore testimony to the many friends sh had in the community and were expressive of the sympathy extended the bereaved. The casket bearers were Raymond Smith, Bertrum Smith, Harold Sawin, Russell French, Clifford French and Glenn French. In addition to words of spiritual comfort, and the following brief obituary, read by Dr. Swihart, a poem prayer she had written which embodied the abiding faith in God, which had carried her through her many years of trial, called "Addie's Prayer" was also read by Dr. Swihart. Addie E. French-Smith Addie E. French, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ira French was born March 26, 1878, at Edison, Nebr., died Sunday June 29, 1952, at the Story County hospital at the age of 74 years. She was a patient sufferer for many years yet was always considerate of others and had an inner devotion with faith, that gave her courage. She is survived by her husband, one son, Harold of Forest City and eleven grandchildren, also was a mother to a niece, Mrs. Howard Padgett of Pocahontas and nephew Max French who is stationed in Germany, whose mother died when they were young. Four sisters, Mrs. Lucy Smay, Edison, Nebr., Mrs. Mac Eby of Oxford, Nebr., Mrs. Charles Thieben of San Pedro, Calif., Mrs. Nina Malone of Oxford, Nebr.; three brothers, Charles French of Fernald, Alex French of Edison, Nebr., Clarence of Nevada and many friends who sympathize with the bereaved.
