Keddy occurred at the Dawson Memorial Hospital at an early hour Wednesday morning after a ten days illness. Although ailing for the past year, Mrs. Keddy's passing was quite unexpected and came with startling suddenness to her family and friends. Keddy occurred at the Dawson Memorial Hospital at an early hour Wednesday morning after a ten days illness. Although ailing for the past year, Mrs. Keddy's passing was quite unexpected and came with startling suddenness to her family and friends. Of a fine Christian character, Mrs. Keddy enjoyed a large circle of friends. She will be greatly missed in her home and in the activities of the United Baptist Church, to which she devoted much of her time. Besides she was a member of the Women's Auxiliary and of the Women's Missionary Society. Before marriage she was Miss Matilda Wharton, of Chelsea, and came to Bridgewater about 25 years ago. Her husband, who survives her, is a veteran of the First Great War. Also surviving are five sons and one daughter, Harry and Bruce of Halifax; Arthur of Boston; Randall of Vancouver; Hector, who recently left Montreal as a member of the First Division of the Canadian Overseas Contingent; and Dorothy, at home. A sister resides in Massachusetts. The funeral was held from the home on Friday afternoon at two o'clock, following which the body was removed to Chelsea for burial. Services were conducted by the pastor, Rev. R.E. Whitney, of the United Baptist Church. With thanks to Rosemary Rafuse.
