She died at St. Joseph's hospital in Omaha Monday morning at the age of 58 years. After her ailment had diagnosed at the Mayo clinic in Rochester, Mrs. Toxword had been under the constant care of a physician, entering the hospital from time to time for treatment. At the time of her death, she had been bedfast since New Year's Day, the last seven weeks in the Omaha hospital. Her will to live and her cooperation with attendants at the hospital had made her a favorite patient there. Adeline C. Toxword, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Strelo, early day residents of the district northeast of Oakland, was born in this community on Dec. 8, 1881. She was baptized, confirmed and married in the same church - St. John's Lutheran church, northeast of Oakland. On May 6, 1903, she was united in marriage to E.S. Toxword. Together they farmed until 1920 on a farm just three miles from her birthplace, after which they moved to Omaha. Mrs. Toxword is survived by two daughters, Eda Toxword of Oakland, Cal., and Mrs. Carolyn Waterhouse of Denison, Tex.; three sisters, Mrs. Fred Wallbrink of Redfield, S.D., Mrs. Chris Kohlmeier of the Bertha community, and Mrs. J.B. Cashman of Port Angeles, Wash.; one brother, Carl Strelo of the Bertha neighborhood; and two granddaughters, Dorothy and Gretchen Lindman of Oakland. Mr. Toxword and infant granddaughter, Clara Jean Waterhouse, preceded her in death two years ago. Funeral services will be held in the First Lutheran church here at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon. Rev. Lawrence Acker, pastor of the First Lutheran church of Omaha, of which both Mr. and Mrs. Toxword were members, will conduct the services. Pallbearers will be her six nephews, Orrin, Walter, and Lester Kohlmeier, Norman and Fredrick Wallbrink of Redfield, S.D. and James Dunkle of Grand Island. Burial will be made in the family lot at Lyons, with Paulson Bros. in charge of arrangements.
