Description	:	Adeline Hilda Boomgarden, age 92, following a brief illness, died on Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2007 at her daughter?s home in Moline, Illinois. Funeral services were held at the Heritage Funeral Home in Sioux Falls on Monday, Nov. 5. Officiating at the service was Rev. Paul Matchan. Organist was June Johnson and Adeline's family provided the vocal music. Pallbearers included Dan Boomgarden, S. Peyre Cleveland, Jon Boomgarden, E. Jhanek Szypulski, Douglas Muchow, and Ronald Svartoien. Interment was in the Lennox Cemetery. Adeline Preszler-Svartoien and her twin brother, Arnold, were born in a mudhouse near Menno, SD on Aug. 5, 1915. She grew up there and at Turkey Ridge, attending school, doing farmwork and working at Sioux Valley laundry. She married Herman H. Boomgarden on May 4, 1940 and they farmed north of Davis. They were blessed with four children, but having only 21 years together, with Herman's death on Sept. 14, 1962. She moved to Sioux Falls in 1963 where she was employed at Sioux Valley Hospital in laundry, housekeeping and dietary until her retirement in 1980. Adeline was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls for 33 years where she was active in Sunday School, Circle and Retiree's Quilters. She traveled extensively including a trip to Norway in 1976. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, reading poetry, dancing, cooking and her friends, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by two sons: five year old Larry in 1950 and Jerry, who, at 48 years of age, died in 2003; her twin brother, Arnold and brother, Robert; three sisters: Dora at age five, Viola Stiemer and Cora Heckenliable. Grateful for having shared her life are one son, Harm Boomgarden and his wife, Carol, of Humboldt; one daughter, Theresha Szypulski and her husband, Ed, of Moline, Illinois; nine grand-children; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers: Lester Svartoien of Rockford, IL and Paul Svartoien of Freeman, SD, plus scores of relatives and friends of all ages
