Read More	Adeline "Lena" (Vieira) Pedro, 90, of Park Street, Attleboro, formerly of Linden Street, Attleboro, died on Saturday, August 16, 2003 at the Life Care Center of Attleboro where she had been a resident for the past 8 years. She was the wife of the late Manuel A. Pedro to whom she was married for more than 50 years and who died in January 1989. Born in Attleboro, MA on July 8, 1913, she was a daughter of the late Manuel and Mary (Coutu) Vieira who had immigrated to the United States from Portugal. She was a lifelong resident of the City of Attleboro and was a 1931 graduate of Attleboro High School. Prior to raising her family and being a dedicated homemaker for decades, Mrs. Pedro was employed at the former Leaven's in Attleboro and at the Knobby Crafter in Attleboro for many years. Mrs. Pedro was a communicant of Holy Ghost Church, Attleboro where she served as the church organist and was a member of the Daughters of Isabella, Attleboro. For many years she was a volunteer Portuguese interpreter assisting immigrants who came to the United States. She often went to Boston to welcome and assist newly arriving immigrants from Portugal. Mrs. Pedro was a volunteer driver having brought many patients to doctor's appointments. She loved to travel and often enjoyed car trips to Florida where she would do all of the driving. She was also an avid reader. She leaves a son: Robert Pedro, owner and operator of Pedro's Service Station, Attleboro, and his wife, Betty Pedro, of Taunton; two daughters: Carol Cote and her husband, Ernest P. Cote, of Attleboro; Geraldine "Gerry" Mullaney and her late husband, Francis Mullaney, of St. Petersburg, Florida; a daughter-in-law: Delores Pedro of North Attleboro; two sisters: Florence Fernandes of Attleboro and Virginia "Jean" Aveiro of Attleboro; 16 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Lawrence Pedro and the late John J. "Jackie" Pedro. The funeral will be held on Wednesday, August 20, 2003 at 8:30 AM from the "Commonwealth Chapel" of the DYER-LAKE FUNERAL HOME, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Holy Ghost Church, 71 Linden Street , Attleboro, with the Rev.
