Description	:	Daughter of John and Edna Willoughby Layher. She graduated in 1933 from Baker-Rural High School in Stapleton. LeVerna attended beauty school and worked as a mother's helper prior to her marriage. On February 22, 1940 she married Leslie Schlientz in North Platte at Albert and Clara Schlientz's home. She lived on Garfield Table where Leslie farmed. In 1942 they moved to the Powell Place southwest of Stapleton. In 1968 they moved to the Newburn place in Logan County. In 1942 they moved to the Powell Place southwest of Stapleton. In 1968 they moved to the Newburn place in Logan County. In 1987 they moved to Stapleton. LeVerna helped on the farm and raised their five children. She liked to sew and canned food, she enjoyed reading and playing cards; she liked crossword puzzles and she was a great cook. She was a member of Banner Mother's Club; the Sweet 16 Card Club; and also a member of the Senior Friendship Club. She will be remembered as a loving mother and family member who will be dearly missed by all. Survivors include daughters, Sharon (Chub) Dailey of Stapleton, Glenda (George) Winters of Garden City, Kansas, Vickie (Kevin) Curtis of North Platte and Debbie (Larry) Myers of Stapleton; son, Duane (Jeroldine) Schlientz of Alamogordo, New Mexico; sister, Twyla Shadonix of Arnold, NE; sister-in-laws, Maxine Schlientz of Lexington, Clara (Alfred) Ewoldt of Stapleton and Phyllis Heiss of Iowa; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, great grandson, Zachery Winters; 1 sister, Ethel Pinkerton; an infant brother Orville Layher; and several sisters and brothers-in-law.
