Description	:	OBITUARY - Adaline R., daughter of Richard and Katherine Hein-Baker, was born in Clay County, Indiana on February 28th, 1860 and departed this life at her home in Pilot Mound on April 27th, 1936 at the age of seventy-six years, and two months. Her childhood and youth were spent in Indiana. On January 22, 1880 she was united in marriage with J. H. Ferry in Clay County, Indiana. To this union eight children were born. Read More	OBITUARY - Adaline R., daughter of Richard and Katherine Hein-Baker, was born in Clay County, Indiana on February 28th, 1860 and departed this life at her home in Pilot Mound on April 27th, 1936 at the age of seventy-six years, and two months. Her childhood and youth were spent in Indiana. On January 22, 1880 she was united in marriage with J. H. Ferry in Clay County, Indiana. To this union eight children were born. Two children, Harvey Albert and Hewie, died in infancy. One daughter and five sons survive her. They are: Mrs. Earl Rinehardt, W. O. and Chas. all of Pilot Mound, Henry of Boone, Earnest and Dewey of Waseca, Minnesota. In 1887, Mr. and Mrs. Ferry came to Iowa from Indiana in a covered wagon and settled near Ridgeport. This was at the time of a severe drought and they had to buy water enroute. Later they moved to Pilot Mound. On December 24, 1928 her husband passed away. Mrs. Ferry was for many years a member of the Baptist church in Pilot Mound. For the past three years she has been in poor health but was not wholly confined to bed until the last few weeks. Through all her suffering she was very patient. She leaves to mourn her death, her sons and daughter; one brother, Charles Baker of Boone; two sisters, Mrs. Matilda Peterson of Boone and Mrs. E. E. Hitchings of Gregory, South Dakota. Twelve grandchildren and one great grandchild. Besides these she leaves other more distant relatives and many friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Ferry were held on Thursday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at the Pilot Mound Methodist church with Rev. Eugene Alexander, pastor, in charge. Rev. H. C. Rice, pastor of the Baptist church of Boone assisting. Mrs. Guy Rector and Mrs. Roy Crouch sang "Rock of Ages" and "Nearer my God to Thee." Rev. Rice sang a solo, "The Child of a King." Accompanist, Mrs. Roy Hinman. The pallbearers were Mr. Chas. Johnson, Wm. Forney, Geo. Hinman, Jess Thompson, M. O. Schofstall and J. E. Seymour. Rev. Alexander's sermon theme was "Jesus, Picture of the Heart of God" based on Luke, Chapter fifteen. Burial in the family lot in the Mineral Ridge cemetery.
