Adella Alice Eichelberg, daughter of John and Paulina (Heupel) Eichelberg was born Nov. 2, 1907, in McPherson County, S.D. She grew up on the farm until her high school years when she attended Plainview Academy for two years and then graduating from Leola High School. She went on to attend Northern State College and then began teaching elementary school. She was united in marriage to Edward Rueb. They established a home in Leola, working very hard, Adella teaching, and Edward ultimately becoming the owner of Rueb Chevrolet. Her husband died in November 1962. They had one daughter. Adella was determined to get a college degree, and in January 1971, she did graduate from Northern State College. She moved to Loma Linda, Calif. in the 1970s and kept very busy working several part-time jobs as well as volunteering and substitute teaching. Adella was a whirlwind of activity. She was united in marriage to Charles Richardson in September 1994. He was killed tragically three weeks later in an automobile accident. Gentle, kind, and compassionate are words that would describe Adella. She loved animals, reading, playing the piano, and socializing with friends. She had a smile that would melt your heart. She sleeps now, awaiting the second coming of our Lord and a glorious reunion with her family. Please come quickly, Lord! She was an active member of the Campus Hill Church of Seventh-Day Adventists in Loma Linda. Survivors include her daughter, Angela Rueb of Loma Linda, Calif. Her parents, two husbands and two brothers, Albert and Arnold preceded her in death. The organist will be Willis Kiesz and special music will be performed by Lloyd and Beverly Binder. Carlsen Funeral Home and Crematory of Aberdeen have been entrusted with arrangements. Published in the Aberdeen News on 2/26/2006.
