Railsback, Early Hatton Settler Dies HATTON - Funeral services were held Oct. 23 at Thornhill Valley funeral home in the Spokane Valley for Aden J. Railsback, who died at 11 p.m. Oct. 19 at a Spokane hospital. Mr. Railsback was born Sept. 3, 1880, to George and Samantha (Kelsey) Railsback of Hamilton, Mo. He attended school at Hamilton and came to the Hatton area in the spring of 1902, at the age of 21. He was married to Maude Goodenough of Hatton on Dec. 6, 1905, in Ritzville. To them were born three children, Leighton Railsback, deceased; Mrs. Russell (Genevieve) Gehres of Lind and Mrs. Ray (Norma) Adamson of Deer Park. Aden farmed in the Hatton area until he retired and they moved to Opportunity in 1944. He was a member of the Methodist church and East Spokane Grange. Before moving he was a member of the Connell Grange. He is survived by his wife, Maude, at the home; two daughters, Mrs. Gehres of Lind and Mrs. Adamson of Deer Park; a sister, Miss Lena Railsback of Spokane, and a brother, Lew Railsback of Portland, Ore. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Leighton Gehres in the U. S. Air Force at Hampton, Va.; Norma Gehres, attending the University of Washington at Seattle; Robert Gehres of Lind, Clark Adamson and Joyce Adamson, both of Deer Park; and one great-granddaughter, Diane Gehres of Hampton, Va. The Rev. David Almon was in charge of the services in Spokane and the Rev.
