The boy had been working in the fields and was apparently in the best of health when he was attacked by the malady and in less than four days was dead. There was an epidemic of this disease prevalent in this part of the state two years ago, particularly in Polk and Hamilton counties, with some cases here, and the people dreading its reappearance. As soon as the nature of the disease was known the county board of health convened, ordered that no public funeral should be held over the body and placed the family and the premises under the strictest quarantine.
