Description	:	Adolph Bylsma, 80, of Hull, went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 3, at the Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls, after a 1 1/2-year illness with cancer. Funeral service was Thursday at 2 p.m. at First Christian Reformed Church in Hull with the Rev. John Engbers officiating. Interment was at Hope Cemetery in Hull. Funeral service was Thursday at 2 p.m. at First Christian Reformed Church in Hull with the Rev. John Engbers officiating. Interment was at Hope Cemetery in Hull. Bylsma was born on June 22, 1926, at Hull, the son of Arie and Jenny (Elsinga) Bylsma. He was raised at Hull, where he graduated from the Christian School. He also completed the auto body program at a vocational school in Fargo, North Dakota. During World War II, he served in the United States Navy. On June 20, 1950, he married Berdena Vande Griend in Middleburg. They made their home in Hull, where he constructed a building for his body shop. He owned and operated the Hiway Body Shop there for 43 years, retiring in 1991. He was a lifetime member of First Christian Reformed Church, where he served several terms as an elder and a deacon and taught catechism classes. He also belonged to the Men's Society and the Bereans Society at the church. He loved the Lord Jesus all his life and was a wonderful example of a Christian every day. He was a member of the Wegman- Koele American Legion Post and a former-member of the Kiwanis Club, both in Hull. He was creative in woodworking and inventive in mechanical projects. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter; two brothers, Lawrence Bylsma, and Adam, in childhood; and a sister, Mina Gerritsen.
