Description	:	Adolph English, son of John and Johanna English, was born in Austria, Hungary Mary 22, 1867, and passed away in Kearney, January 23, 1954, at the age of 86 years, 8 months and 1 day. At the age of 14 he come to America with his parents, 1 brother and 2 sisters and settled at Columbus, Neb. A few years later his parents homesteaded northwest of Pleasanton. He was united in marriage to Sophia Matzner and to this union 10 children were born. One son passed away in infancy. He lived on the homestead until four years ago when he went ot live... He was united in marriage to Sophia Matzner and to this union 10 children were born. One son passed away in infancy. He lived on the homestead until four years ago when he went ot live with his son, Adolph. A few months ago he became ill and entered a nursing home in Kearney, where he passed away. His wife, one brother and one sister preceded him in death. He leaves to mourn his loss, four sons, Rudolph, Louis and Fread of Sumner and Adolph of Pleasanton; and five daughters, Mrs. Johanna Jones and Mrs. Theresa Meyers of North Sacramento, California, Mrs. Rose Rutner of Sumner, Mrs. Louisa Schwab of Riverdale, and Mrs. Sophia Taubenheim of Amherst; 22 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Bertha Lammers of Kearney, and a host of other relatives and friends. He was a kind and loving father, always willing to lend a helping hand and was respected by all who knew him. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 26 at the Pleasanton EUB Church with the Rev. D. S. Bornemeier in charge. Interment at the Pleasant Valley cemetery, northwest of Pleasanton
