Mr. Dirkschneider died at his home Monday, July 14, 2008. Adrian was born Nov. 5, 1925, at West Point to Frank and Margaret (Batenhorst) Dirkschneider. Dirkschneider, 82, of Dodge will be at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church with military honors by American Legion Post 122 and VFW Post 8597 at the parish cemetery. Mr. Dirkschneider died at his home Monday, July 14, 2008. Adrian was born Nov. 5, 1925, at West Point to Frank and Margaret (Batenhorst) Dirkschneider. He attended Snyder High School and then worked at the Scribner Air Base and Farmer's Co-op until his employment was interrupted, when he was inducted into the U.S. Army in June 1945. After six weeks of military training in Arkansas, Adrian was sent overseas to Frankfurt, Germany, where he was a postal clerk until his discharge in January of 1947. Adrian worked for Herman Wagner from January of 1948 until 1956 when he purchased the business known as Wagner Well from Mrs. Carrie Wagner. He married Melvajean Wagner, daughter of Herman and Carrie Wagner, on Aug. 3, 1948, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Dodge. They lived in Dodge all of their married lives and retired in 1991. Melvajean preceded him in death on Nov. 22, 2001. Adrian was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, the Holy Name Society and was a past member and president of the Nebraska Well Drillers Association; member of the American Legion Post 122 of Dodge and the VFW Post 8597, also of Dodge; was a past member of the Dodge Chamber of Commerce and the Dodge Volunteer Fire Department; and was past president of the Leisure Lake Association near Fremont. He loved his family and enjoyed his grandchildren, boating, fishing, water skiing, dancing and card playing. Adrian was preceded in death by his parents, wife and two brothers, Raymond and Norbert. Pallbearers will be Dale Johnson, Brice Johnson, Brad Johnson, Jordan Johnson,Dustin Hegy, Logan Hegy and Bryn Dirkschneider.
