He was born Nov. 26, 1912, at Council Grove, Kansas., to Emery and Grace (Clement) Porter. He spent his early years at Council Grove and attended schools there. He moved with his family to Wenatchee in 1933. He married Marie Klovdahl at Leavenworth in 1935, and they lived at Wenatchee. She died in 1938. Porter, 78, a longtime resident of Chelan, died Tuesday, July 9, 1991, in Lake Chelan Community Hospital. He was born Nov. 26, 1912, at Council Grove, Kansas., to Emery and Grace (Clement) Porter. He spent his early years at Council Grove and attended schools there. He moved with his family to Wenatchee in 1933. He married Marie Klovdahl at Leavenworth in 1935, and they lived at Wenatchee. She died in 1938. Mr. Porter later moved to Carlton where he managed an orchard. He married Christine Sundstrom at Kent in 1943. They lived at Chelan where he owned and operated orchards until he retired in 1980. His second wife preceded him in death in June 1982. Mr. Porter was a member of Blue Chelan Inc., and the Chelan Oddfellows. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Ivan (Mae) Buffington of Shelton. In addition to his wives, he was preceded in death by three brothers, two sisters and a half-sister. Precht Rose Chapel, Chelan, is in charge of arrangements.
